Optimising the performance of PHP applications not only reduces carbon emissions, but often also saves money – be it through reduced use of cloud services or increased customer satisfaction. That’s why I’m focusing on performance issues in the first part.
The second part takes a more in-depth look at other ways to reduce the emissions caused by our software, such as incorporating information from the power grid, aka carbon-aware software.
